Lifted Wings- A Poem

Hey there!

I’d like to apologize on the behalf of the Writing Writers team for not sharing our writerly goodness with you all! It makes me, and hopefully everyone, delighted that we have over 100 followers now! ❤ Thank you for your continued support to this website. You are our greatest motivators. Today, I’d like to share a short poetry piece. This was inspired by a saying on a piece of clothing of mine- with brave wings she flies.

Lifted Wings

With brave wings she flies,

out of her nest,

into the air,

her wings lifted with the calmness of the sky.

to be,

set free

Lost~ a story

I hope it’s okay to repost my short story on the Writing Writers. Usually, I don’t share my work online for fear that everyone will think it’s terrible, even when I think and I know I’m a pretty good writer. Enjoy!

A Notebook, One Pen, And Me

prompt-1-2

A writing prompt from https://dreamersdreamsblog.wordpress.com/

It was a cold day. Snowflakes settled on the windows, each with their own glittering patterns. The whole Earth was covered in snow, as a blanket shielding the planet and providing it with warmth. There was only one voice that whispered in my voice, time and time again. “Who are you?” it asked. “Where do you come from?” and all I could say was, “I don’t know.” I really didn’t. The world was spinning, and yet I didn’t understand. I didn’t understand where I was and what I was doing here.

I opened my eyes to the sound of my mom bringing hot chocolate up to my room. There was nothing I wanted more than a hot drink that would soothe my dry lips and heal my numb fingers. I longed to hold the cup. That’s when I saw something I had never seen before. There…

The One Who Shines Brightest

I was looking up at the night sky sprinkled with stars with my dark eyes. It was then when I saw the stars more closely. Constellations were forming, but most importantly, there was one star that almost blinded my eyes. It shone with such light!

“The one that shines the brightest,” said a voice in the distance, letting out a contented sigh. “The only one that understands.”

I did not know who was speaking, but I mustered up my courage to say, “Understands what?”

“Life.”

I saw it all in that one star. One moment it shone, one moment it was faded. Every star other than that one now shone. It was then that I realized that all of us are stars. We are gems, each unique in our way, like those in a ring. All of us have our good and bad days. I smiled happily.

Waiting

I’ve been waiting,

waiting here by the candlelight,

for when you would come,

stars faded,

the moon shone brightly,

and yet I waited.

when it hit me

you would never return

if you wanted to,

you would have came long back

i still think

why did i waste my life for you

there was so much potential to me

and you slipped through my heart

only to break it later

i still remember those times we talked together and you smiled at my silliness

those days where the wind blew my hair and your eyes lingered on mine, for too long, too many times

do you remember this feeling

this dream?

Note: I don’t have any relationship with anyone. This poem was completely random, and I’m still young. Thanks to the admins for adding me; I hope all the other writers here don’t mind.
